Ferrets have a lung structure very similar to humans. This means that if you are sick, be it flu or a cold, your ferret could catch what you have. When dealing with your ferret please use the same precautions as you would for another person or a small child during these tough times. Wash your hands before handling and after, and if you do have a cough, make sure to cover your mouth with a mask or something similar. For more information please visit :

The Ferret Rescue And Halfway House, Inc. is a "no kill" shelter and does not discriminate with regard to age, health, or general condition of the animal. All domestic ferrets are accepted. All ferrets will be given full examinations and vaccinations, and treated further by a licensed veterinarian as necessary.
Mason Lowrey, the owner of Ferret Rescue and Halfway House, loves ferrets and has devoted a good portion of her life to them. Those of us who foster, donate our time and hearts to these little guys in need are all the same. We love ferrets and want to help in what was ways we can.

The shelter is located 5 ½ miles east of Martinsville, and about 40 miles south of downtown Indianapolis, and 25 miles south of exit four on 465.
